Born in Corpus Christi, Texas and then raised in Knoxville, Tennessee. In 2009 I returned to Texas and served as an AmeriCorps member volunteering with impoverished and vulnerable populations in East Austin. During this time my passion for advocacy, equity, and raising the bar for health and dignity was established.
Since then, I have returned amassed approximately 7,000 hours of volunteer experience, earned my BSN from Texas State University, and am currently pursuing education for certification as an APRN. The sole purpose for the APRN licensure is to give back to my community as my professional/career passion rests in leadership.
Professional experiences and roles include change management, organizational development, executive coaching as well as the growth & development of programs. Since becoming a registered nurse i have been a staff nurse in the OR, education, administration, Patient Experience Leader for a large multi-hospital system in Austin, and i am currently engineering and developing the Metabolic & Bariatric Program within a hospital in Round Rock, Texas in preparation for national MBSAQIP accreditation.
