My interests are in pediatric nursing, education, and increasing vaccination rates in the state of Ohio. Currently, I am meeting those goals by obtaining my Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Capital University in December of 2016. I have been accepted to the Fast Track Master’s Degree in Nursing at Capital University with a planned focus on education. I accepted a position at the Ohio Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics as Nurse Educator in 2015, providing MOBI (Maximizing Office Based Immunizations), TIES (Teen Immunization Education Sessions), and AFIX assessments in 34 Ohio counties. Prior to employment with Ohio AAP, I provided direct clinical care to patients and families within a pediatric office setting. I continue to provide direct clinical care within that office, keeping current on immunization administration best practices, and growing my knowledge and expertise. My background experience in office based practice, and immunizations will continue to be an asset in my pursuit of a Master’s Degree in Nursing with a focus on education.
I currently reside in Reynoldsburg, Ohio with my husband Mark, and dog Max. I enjoy reading (teen sci-fi and romance books are my guilty pleasure!), cooking/baking, and being involved in my church community.
