New Ohio eLicense System Launched, Ohio Board of Nursing System Operational

The Ohio Board of Nursing recently announced that the 3.0 Ohio eLicense system is operational and ready for licensee use.  The Ohio Nurses Association is working with the Ohio Board of Nursing (Board) to get helpful information out to registered nurses across the state, with the intent to make the transition of licensure renewal on the new system smooth, effective and efficient.  Key highlights to note at this time:

  1.  If you hold an active RN license in Ohio, your license is now valid through October 21, 2017 due to a recent law passed in Ohio.  All online verification of active RN licenses are current through the new eLicense system.
  2. The Board states that for the first time, the system will allow all licensure and certification applications to be entered and processed online, including renewals.
  3. Licensed practical nurses are currently using the new system to renew their license this year.
  4.  All renewals must be completed online.
  5. Please make sure all of your contact information, including current email address, is up-to-date with the Board so you can receive licensure renewal information as the Board sends it out.
  6. Please visit the Ohio Board of Nursing website to find more information about the new 3.0 Ohio eLicense system and the link to the new portal (https://elicense.ohio.gov/OH_CommunitiesLogin

If you have questions regarding the new system, please note that the Board is currently working through licensure renewal of LPNs on the new system from now until October.  Your patience and cooperation is appreciated. Thank you!
