Frequently Asked Questions about GoToWebinar & GoToMeeting
- Do you use GoToMeeting's audio if you're using in the library?
Yes - there's a call in number provided by GoToMeeting - you can either dial in with the phone in the library or use the mic & speakers. The mic is on the webcam and the speakers are the TV speakers and they work automatically when you select mic & speaker option. But if you have lots of people in the room use the phone since it has the extension mics on it.
- We want folks to be able to see a presentation on their computer screens – can GoToMeeting provide this capability OR do I have to schedule a GoToWebinar for this?
GoToMeeting can do this. There is no difference between GoToMeeting and GoToWebinar other than the #of participants - 25 for a meeting, 100 for a webinar, and there's no registration required for a meeting like there is for a webinar. Otherwise, exact same features - screen sharing, mouse sharing, changing presenters, recording the meeting, etc.
- One meeting I will be administering here and the other at home – any differences I should be aware of?
No difference, just make sure if you are using mic & speaker option that you actually have a mic & speaker at home, otherwise use your phone. You'll have to install the GoToMeeting launcher every single time you start or connect to a meeting no matter what computer you are on.
- How do you load the presentation for viewing?
There is no need to "load a presentation", you simply share your screen and whatever is on your screen is what's displayed to participants. So if your presentation is a word doc, just have it open. If it's a powerpoint, just have it open.
